As a licensed mental health counselor, I work with individuals navigating the complex intersections of personal, professional, and familial roles, often while adapting to cultural transitions or new environments. Many clients present with emotional challenges that are not always visible to others, such as anxiety, chronic stress, and unresolved trauma. These experiences can lead to a profound sense of isolation and internal conflict. Clients frequently seek therapy to gain emotional clarity, psychological relief, and a therapeutic space in which their cultural background and lived experiences are recognized and validated without the burden of explanation. Within this context, the therapeutic process aims to foster reconnection with the client’s authentic self, promote resilience, and support the development of a life aligned with their core values and purpose.
My clinical orientation is informed by a culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and strengths-based perspective. As a Vietnamese-American woman and practicing Catholic, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to the therapeutic relationship, particularly in understanding the emotional and cultural complexities associated with identity development, integration, and navigating multiple social roles. My educational background, which includes training in psychology, pharmacy, anthropology, and hospitality, informs a holistic and systems-aware lens through which I approach client care.
I utilize an integrative and evidence-based framework, drawing upon multiple modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. These include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Family Systems Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Humanistic/Person-Centered approaches. When appropriate, I also incorporate expressive modalities such as play therapy and art therapy, particularly in work with children, adolescents, or clients seeking nonverbal methods of exploration.
My clinical focus includes, but is not limited to, trauma and complex trauma, cultural adjustment, blended and multicultural family dynamics, life transitions, emotional regulation, academic and professional stress, and spiritually integrated mental health care. I have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families from diverse racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds, including immigrant and international student populations.
Prior to entering the field of mental health, I worked in healthcare, education, and hospitality. These roles offered a foundation in relational dynamics, organizational stress, and the human need for connection and meaning. This background continues to inform my work as a therapist, particularly in helping clients navigate change, uncertainty, and overwhelm with compassion and pragmatic support.
My therapeutic stance is collaborative and affirming. I strive to co-create a safe, nonjudgmental, and respectful environment in which clients are empowered to explore their narratives, access internal strengths, and transform limiting beliefs. Whether individuals are seeking support during a challenging life season or pursuing deeper personal growth, I am committed to walking alongside them on their healing journey.
